Are your free walking tours really free?
YES! Our free tours are designed to welcome all travellers on any kind of budget to get to know Singapore without a price tag. Your guide only earns what you are willing to give. So, if you enjoyed your tour, please do tip them for their time and effort! A recommended tip amount is between $10-20/person, but always tip only what is comfortable to you.
We also kindly request that you help us continue to make free tours available to all visitors here in Singapore! You can do so by leaving a review of our tours on TripAdvisor, or Google, or any other social media platforms. We value every single review we get, and your generosity will go a long way in supporting your guides.
Is registration required for the free walking tours?
Registration is required! Register in advance to ensure you have a spot on the tour you want, for as many tours as you like. Click
here and register in 3 easy steps!
Didn't manage to register in time? Not a problem. Simply turn up at our designated meeting points 15 mins prior to the tour’s start time, and register with the guide! Look out for the tour guide in our signature purple-coloured "Monster Day Tours" polo tee.
What will we cover during the free walking tours?
Each of our tours are different and there are no overlaps in sites at all. Expect a fair amount of walking, with great stories, and a lot of fun! During the walks, you will discover the best of Singapore's history and culture through iconic landmarks with our tour guides. You will also get to meet like-minded travellers from all over the world.
Due to the popularity of our tours, our group sizes may get quite big, especially during the weekends. Which is why it is important for you to register, so we can prepare for exceptionally large groups on any single day.
Can I join the tour halfway?
Due to the format of our free walking tours, we highly recommend you join us right at the start to get the best experience. Also, it may be difficult to locate the group as they move around during the tour.
However, if you absolutely have to join in only halfway, please inform your guide during a suitable break, and register with them so that they know you are part of the group.
What if it rains?
The tour will proceed, rain or shine. We would advise you to bring drinking water, a poncho or umbrella and put on comfortable footwear.
Singapore has an unpredictable tropical climate which can be hot, yet turn rainy the next moment. Best to be prepared!
I would love to tip! Where does the tips go to?
90% of your tips goes to our tour guides for their hard work and to cover basic marketing expenses.
And because we want to do well, and do good - the remaining funds currently go to setting up a tourism co-operative aimed at creating sustainable and responsible tourism in Singapore. More details will be released at a future date.
Can we come in big group?
If you are coming in a big group (more than 6 pax), please drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can make separate arrangements for a better tour experience.
If you prefer a customised itinerary or you have special requirements, check out our

NEW! - What safety measures are the company taking to ensure that tours can run safely during this COVID-19 period?
In light of the COVID-19 situation, tour operators and tourist guides must comply with the latest requirements for Safe Management Measures (“SMMs”) by the Singapore Government and Singapore Tourism Board.
Therefore, to ensure safe re-opening of tours and support the Singapore Government efforts in providing a safe environment for both participants, staff and tour guides, so as to minimise the risk of a COVID-19 resurgence, Monster Day Tours require all participants to adhere to the set of regulations and guidelines:
Below are some key measures and guidelines to follow:
Participants who are unwell will not be allowed to join the tour.
A mandatory temperature check will be conducted at the beginning of the tour.
Face masks and hand santisers will be distributed to participants
Please refer to
https://www.monsterdaytours.com/terms for the full list of requirements.
We understand these measures are disruptive and may require some effort from you. However, we must all do our part to protect the people around us.
Participants will have to observe the safe distancing measures during the tour.
NEW! - Why are your free walking tours not available now?
Due to COVID-19, tour operators and tourist guides are not allowed to run any large group tours.
Therefore, we have made some temporary changes and offering our popular walking tours as private tours for the time being. We will also be running special tour campaigns during this period to support our efforts in saving tourism jobs and supporting our local guides, who have been severly impacted by the pandemic.
